Talk
only with people you know and trust. |
 |
Remember
that people help because they care about you. This means
that it is important that you personally contact potential
supporters. |
 |
Your
best customers are people you know, so start out by making
a list of everyone you can think of who might be willing
to help. |
 |
Let
people know what you are raising funds for. Then simply
ask them to help. People like to help. |
 |
Friends
and family who live out of town can be contacted by phone
or e-mail. Because everyone loves our chocolate and other
products, you can easily take their order by describing
the product. Better yet, if your out of town family or
friends are online, they can order using our online fundraising
catalog. |
 |
Set
a goal for yourself and break the total goal up into daily
goals. This is a great way to be successful in your fundraising
efforts and in anything else you do in life. |
 |
Carry
your brochure and order form with you all the time, everywhere
you go. You never know when you may run in to a selling
opportunity. |
 |
Get
others in your family to help you, but offer to do something
nice for them in return. Gratitude is shown in deeds more
than in words. |
 |
Have
a product that is a particular personal favorite and point
that out to your supporters. This helps confirm you feel
good about the product you are selling. |
 |
After
a person orders an item, ask them if they would like to
purchase anything else. This will often help you get an
extra order. |
 |
Have
fun. Even if someone does not want to help, you are making
a difference by your participation. Remember that the
best batter in Major League Baseball is out over half
the time! |
